Talent Partner

Tanika Jennings

Hi there, I’m Nika!
‎ ‎
I’ve spent the better part of the last decade immersed in the world of recruitment and HR – connecting great people with great opportunities across industries, from mining giants to boutique agencies. I’m currently loving life as a Talent Partner at Dixon Appointments, where I get to do what I do best: build genuine relationships, solve hiring puzzles, and celebrate career wins.
‎ ‎
Before joining Dixon, I took a career break to travel the world – because why not swap spreadsheets for sunsets for a little while? That time gave me fresh perspective, a suitcase full of stories, and a renewed appreciation for adaptability.
‎ ‎
If You Could Have Lunch with Any Fictional Character, Who Would It Be and Why?
Ted Lasso – who wouldn’t want a pep talk and a laugh
‎ ‎
Is there someone you particularly admire and if so, why?
I’m lucky enough to have not just one, but three dads in my life. Each of them has inspired me in different ways-through their work ethic, personal values, and the unique way they navigate life. One brings a calm, thoughtful approach to challenges, another leads with humour and heart, and the third is all about drive and determination. Watching how they each show up in the world has shaped how I approach both work and relationships. It’s a pretty special trio to learn from.
‎ ‎
Favourite podcast or book? (and why)
Professionally, I really enjoyed The Culture Map by Erin Meyer-it’s a brilliant guide to understanding how cultural differences shape communication and collaboration.
Personally, I’m a big fan of true story podcasts like Mr Ballen. There’s something oddly comforting about listening to bizarre, mysterious real-life tales before bed
‎ ‎
What’s the most unusual talent you have?
I can write a to-do list that’s both motivating and mildly intimidating.
‎ ‎
If you could have lunch with any fictional character, who would it be and why?
Genie from Aladdin, no question.
‎ ‎
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Ironically, it was about advice itself. I was told to remember that when someone offers advice, it’s usually coming from a good place-but it’s also shaped by their own experiences and perspective at that moment in time. Ask them the same question five months later, and you might get a completely different answer. It’s a great reminder to take advice with gratitude, but also with a pinch of context.
